WHAT IS AIR POLLUTION?

-Air pollution is a mix of particles and gases that can reach harmful concentrations both outside and indoors. Its effects can range from higher disease risks to rising temperatures. Soot, smoke, mold, pollen, methane, and carbon dioxide are a just few examples of common pollutants.

THE EFFECTS OF AIR POLLUTION

-Polluted air causes an increase in respiratory diseases in humans. For example; It is known that lead prevents the development and maturation of blood cells, adversely affects health by accumulating in blood and urine, and carbon monoxide (CO) combines with hemoglobin in the blood and hinders oxygen transport.

- However, sulfur dioxide (SO2) has sharp, suffocating and irritating effects on the upper respiratory tract. In addition, sulfur dioxide and ozone are harmful to plants. Ozone in particular causes product losses and harms forests.

-It has been determined that the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increased by 5% as a result of fossil fuels used in industry, heating, destruction of forests and land change. It is predicted that this causes global warming
