Usually the dust from African deserts move to other continents, this movement has it's cons and pros. Our responsibility is to protect ourselves from the negative affects without blocking the positive sides of it.

 

Dust transport is crutial for rainforest. Most of the deserts are actually dried out water resources , so deserts contain minerals that get washed away by the rain in raiforests, but those minerals are needed for the growth of plants and trees, which is the roots of the rainforest ecosystem. The balance between these two opposite ecosystems is dust transport, so it is very important.

 

Although,during this dust transform process, the viruses and diseases can also travel with the dust. During the COVID-19 outbreak, dust transport was almost deadly because small particules of dust were everywhere, the cities on the way of the dust had to experience a nearly full lock down to protect themselves from the deadly infected dust. 

 

So, what can we do to protect ourselves from the dust?

The most basic thing you need to do is to check the dust level at your current location to see ğif it is on a dangerous level. If it is, you need to stay indoors as much as possible and never open your windows.If you have to go out in the dangerous situation, you need to use specialized masks because the small dust particules can get in from a normal fabric mask or even some surgery masks. The situation will probably lose it's criticalness in just a few days,so it's usually nothing to freak out about but ıt always worths the precautions!
